SECONDARY GLAZING

We were recently asked to install some secondary glazing at a local property.

The property has beautiful wooden casement and sash windows but was in need of an upgrade in relation to its EPC certificate.

If you want to retain your existing windows, or are required to for conservation reasons, secondary glazing is a convenient way to do this while also improving the energy performance and sound proofing of your home. The process involves adding another slim-line window to the inside of your existing windows.

It is possible to have fixed secondary frames or vertical or horizontal sliding secondary frames, depending on what suits your windows and how you use them best. We can adjust widths and heights of mullions and transoms to line through with those of your existing frames for a discreet and elegant insulation solution which still allows you to get the ventilation and light you benefit from with your existing windows.

Available in reveal or face fix and luxury or heavy duty subframes, these is sure to be a design that suits your property.

While at the property we also installed a lovely PVCu residential door featuring a midrail and obscure textured glass, giving light but retaining privacy. The white door and secondary frames blend in nicely with the white interior of the property, again providing sympathetic home improvements.
