In 1986 the late Jock Messer and his wife Lesley decided to start AllGlass & Glazing, a new glass business operating out of tiny premises in Crewkerne’s Court Barton in Somerset. After two years the business expanded to include uPVC replacement windows and moved to another unit in Crewkerne.
However, after only 15 months this unit proved too small and larger premises were required. In 1990, Jock and Lesley took over an existing double glazing company located at Unit 9 on Crewkerne’s Cropmead Trading Estate, becoming a firm that could provide extensive double glazing and quality uPVC windows, doors and conservatories to householders across the South West of England.
In 1996 AllGlass & Glazing acquired the land adjacent to Unit 9 and in 1997 built a new factory, creating increased space, offices and a uPVC showroom.
Sadly, in 2000 Jock Messer passed away, but with the assistance of her managers and dedicated staff, Director Lesley Messer successfully continued the running the company. In early 2001 we became a limited company and the business went from strength to strength. In 2002 we acquired the BSI 5713 Kitemark and in 2003 the EN1279 accreditation. From 2004 AllGlass continued to be successful, gaining a reputation that was second to none in Somerset and the South West.
In early 2012 Lesley decided she would like to take more of a back seat, and with her daughter Hayley now at the helm the company continues to grow and uphold its well established reputation.
We are excited about the future of the business and look forward to new ventures. Amongst other exciting prospects we have now added a new showroom to Unit 9 in May 2017, come and visit us!
